Math-
Math is a subject that builds on the skills that students have learned in prior years. The math program that SMS uses is a consistent instructional sequence that allows the students to continuously build their skills and knowledge in math. We will begin most classes with a quick graded drill that revisits skills from previous years and lessons. Class time will provide students with guided practice, use of manipulatives, and both group and independent work to allow myself to work with students in small guided groups. There will be math homework each night for students. It is your student’s responsibility to copy their homework from the board and to take the correct book home. Homework is checked for completion and is counted towards an effort grade.
