ANNOUNCEMENTS for the week of 1/4- 1/8.
We will begin our Division Chapter in Math on Wednesday. I will also be giving division quizes as we have done for multiplication.
Students will be given a quiz with 20 division problems. Students will be given 1 ½ minutes to answer the 20 questions. Each quiz will be on one division table (ie. 2 division table only).
Students will take mixed practice quizzes throughout the unit.
If your child does not score an 80% or better, your child will be given 2 additional chances to meet the 80% score. The score of the final quiz will be the one recorded for your child.
If your child receives a score of 75% or below, you will need to sign the quiz sheet and return. The re-take quiz will be given on the following day.
I am a firm believer in memorization. I strongly suggest students memorize their division facts!
Suggestions:
1. Have your child use cereal in order to model division problems by making equal groups of cereal in order to learn their math facts.
2. Have your child practice with flashcard.
3. Provide your child with computer time to play division games.
