Sept.10,2009 All students that are my reading group have the following home
work assignment: Write a synomyn for the following words: Buffeted, Swooped
and Smudg. If your reading group is Nia, in addition to the vocabulary
words, you must complete the Informational Text Features Chart. And remember,
you are required to read at least 20 minutes a night.

Home-Room Students: Science: Study chapter 1, test is on
Monday.Fiction and Non Fiction worksheet, read 20 minutes a day.
Reading Group: Non-fiction book report is due on Monday. Please return
the form along with the non- fiction book that you borrowed.

Social Studies Complete the hand-out on Jackie Robinson
Note to parents: As I was cleaning my classroom,I noticed that some students
left a flyer that they were to take home concerning testing on Monday, and
Tuesday. This test (OLSAT 7) is a verbal and non verbal measure of abstract
thinking and reasoning ability. The practice test will be on Monday, and the
actual test will be taken on Tuesday. This test is given every year to third
grade students in order to assist schools in making placement decisions for
the Talented and Gifted Program. Please make sure that your child gets plenty
of rest the night before , and have a healthy breakfast.
