P.E. Grading

Students are given two grades in P.E.

1.) Skill/Knowledge (I,W,N = Grades K-2 or A,B,C,D,E = Grades 3-5)

I = Mastery of skill/knowledge demonstrated

W = Progress of skill/knowledge demonstrated

N = Progress still in process

A = Outstanding achievement/mastery of skill and knowledge

B = High level of achievement/excellent progress demonstrated in skill and knowledge

C = Satisfactory level of achievement/some progress demonstrated in skill and knowledge

D = Low level of achievement/minimal progress demonstrated in skill and knowledge

E = No progress or growth demonstrated at all

2. Effort (1, 2, 3)

The Effort grade includes coming prepared with proper footwear and clothing for safe participation, listening and following directions, task commitment, quality and quantity of work, and participation in all class activities.

(1) Outstanding - Consistently reflects all of the above components of effort.

(2) Satisfactory - Demonstrates components of effort most of the time. Requires assistance/reminders at times.

(3) Needs Improvement - Inconsistent demonstration of effort components. Off task most of the time.

Dependent worker.
