Jan Brett
Jan Brett lives in a seacoast town in Massachusetts. She studied art in college. After making a trip to Norway she was inspired to begin writing and illustrating books for children. Her books are very creative because not only are they beautiful to look at but they always have side windows that give extra information about the story. Her books deal with stories about polar bears, gingerbread men, trolls, Christmas and other wintry ideas. Here website can be found here.

Steven Kellogg
We are now reading Steven Kellogg's books.
He is hard to define because he writes and
illustrates so many different kinds of stories.
Of course he is famous for Pinkerton the Great Dane.
But his stories are so creative and his drawings
so clever, that he is quickly becoming one
of my favorite children's writers. His website
Peggy Parish
The first author we are focusing on is Peggy Parish.
Ms. Parish is the creator of the Amelia Bedelia series.
She has been a teacher of dance and of creative children.
Her Amelia Bedelia series has a real following among young people.
On September 14, the children wrote their own Amelia Bedelia, focusing on the type of
organization that Peggy Parish tended to use. There is a problem that occurs, based on
Amelia's misunderstanding of something. Then there is a solution, usually brought about
by Amelia's delicious cooking. The kids did a great job on these stories.
