Happy Thanksgiving everyone! November is almost gone and Christmas is just
around the corner! I wanted to take this time to remind everyone of a few
things that are upcoming at WES. The week of December 3-7 will be Santa’s
Secret Shop. Children will be bringing home information about this event after
Thanksgiving break. The school Christmas program will be held on December 18,
with performances at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Grades K-5 will be participating.
PTA will be providing a holiday treat for the students during that week also.
I want to say a big Thank You to everyone who has supported the Mt. Ridge
Stadium fundraiser. I am especially grateful for all the time Ed & Lori Lutton
have sacrificed for the sake of this project. We still have tickets for sale
and we need your help. No matter what your personal feelings on the matter,
Mt. Ridge is here to stay and someday our children will be students there.
Please get behind this project with us! We were privileged this week to be
able to attend the Teacher of the Year banquet with Mrs. Erica Swisher. Mrs.
Swisher teaches 3rd grade at WES. She is one in a million and we are so lucky
to have her. Congratulations Mrs. Swisher! I would like to thank Mrs. Harris
and Mrs. C. Smith and their students for a great program on Thursday night at
the PTA meeting. Thanks to all the parents who came and brought their children
to participate as well. PTA has a lot of projects in the works for our
students. Committees have been formed and if you signed up to help with any of
these committees, you will be contacted soon. As always we appreciate our
