In reading, we will be
integrating science into our reading lessons. We will begin identifying
non-fiction text features in big books (table of contents, photographs,
chapter headings, labels, captions, etc). In writing, we will continue to
work on stretching out sounds for words and writing down the sounds we hear.
In math, we will begin to
work on counting, identifying and writing the numerals 0-31. On Tuesday,
students will begin their new math classes to better meet each student's
needs. Please look in your child's folder for more information on this and to
see who your child's math teacher is.
Some questions for this
week to ask your child:
1. What word did we add to
our word wall? (will)
2. How do we write the
number 3? (what is the rhyme?)
3. What is a non-fiction
text feature?
4. What was the problem in
the Elmer story that you read on Wednesday?
