About The Teacher
Mrs. Barrett was born in New Jersey and spent eighteen years living there. She went to college in Pennsylvania at Kutztown University. There, she met her husband, Mr. Barrett. While she attended Kutztown, she worked for the opportunity to teach in St. Helen's, England. She also ventured to Ireland and Scotland. After college, she began her career in education and has been teaching for nine years. Following college, she travelled to Ocean City, New Jersey, where she began her career in teaching. While she lived there, she had the opportunity to travel to Spain and France. Currently, she lives in Maryland. She also travelled to Italy last winter. She had the privilege of teaching at Wilde Lake Middle School for three years. Now, she thoroughly enjoys teaching at Lime Kiln Middle. In her spare time, she attends graduate school at Loyola College in the Modern Studies program. She also enjoys travel, hiking, ceramics, and photography, and making crafts. She is the proud owner of three cats: Betty, Elvis, and Chloe, and she has just had a baby in April. She looks forward to teaching YOU this year! E-mail Address: cbarrett@hcpss.org

Carpe Diem! Carpe Diem means to seize the day. It means to make the most out of your life. This is Mrs. Barrett's class motto. In her classes, students will learn the art of writing and explore many genres of writing. Mrs. Barrett wishes for her students to explore these ideas analytically and creatively. Carpe Diem!
