How does the PSU Bonus work?

If Penn State wins their game for the week, the classes gets a special "bonus" during the upcoming week. Bonus examples include points/percentages added to projects, labs, homework; a free test answer; cancellation of a homework for that week, and so on.

Why do I do a PSU  Bonus?

I did not attend PSU, though I am Pennsylvania born and raised. I did go to school near PSU and enjoyed their games growing up

This bonus serves a few purposes. One, it helps to keep the class light, giving us a reason to celebrate something unrelated to our class that can positively impact us. Two, since they play at the same time we start school, it also helps to give the students another way to keep grades up as they adjust to their new surroundings and routines. Lastly, it hopefully reminds them that we are all connected. We may not realize it all of the time, but successes, inventions, relevations, and even just plain-ol' good feelings that start somewhere else far away from us often can find their way into our midst. Maybe the joy of getting 5 points added to a homework grade might make you smile during the day just at the right time that someone needs one!
