
English Language Arts: The students did an AWESOME job on the end of year
reading test!! You rocked it second graders :) This week we will be
reviewing non-fiction with dinosaur articles.
Math: Students will be taking the END OF YEAR county math assessment this
Wednesday. Please make sure your child has a good night's rest and a healthy
breakfast.
Science: Students are learning all animals of long ago.
Social Studies: Students are answering the question, "Where in the world do
we live?" They will review and use their map skills to answer this
question.
Vocabulary Words: Since we are now in the 4th quarter, we will only be
spending one week per lesson to help prepare the students for 3rd grade.
These words will be tested on Friday, 5/25:
demand ~ If you demand something, you say that you must have it or it must be
done.
crimson ~ If something is crimson, it is a really deep red color.
impatient ~ Someone is impatient if they are having a hard time waiting for
something to happen.
nourish ~ To nourish someone or something is to give it food that will make
it healthy and strong.
caravan ~ A caravan is a group that travels together in a long line, usually
to keep each other safe.
hearty ~ Something hearty is big and full, and gives you all that you want.
tradition ~ A tradition is something that a group of people always does to
celebrate a special time.
