Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
How often will I have homework?
I believe that without practice we do not stay strong in our abilities. Therefore, expect homework every night. I TRY not to give homework over the weekends but every weekend is not a perfect world. :-)Back to Top
How do I complete my homework?
This may seem like a no-brainer but let's cover the basics! Start with labeling your paper with your name, the date, class, and the assignment. Include the page and the numbers. When you start the practice problems, ALWAYS copy the problem down! Show your work. This might be time consuming but if I can see your work then I know if you are doing well or if I need to show some examples. Another reason to show your work is because homework is an excellent study tool and if you have random numbers on your papers then it will have no meaning to you other than it takes up room in your binder. How is your penmenship? Can you read it? Lastly, give yourself room! Skip a line between work if you work down or if you go to the side give yourself an inch of room between problems.Back to Top
Late homework. Can I pass it in beyond the day it is due?
Yes, but you will not receive full credit. It must be complete or I won't accept it. That means if you have questions, I will see them and will consider it incomplete until you ask the questions you have. You might say that you tried your best and worked really hard but I see that you need to go one step further and learn how to complete the problems. Homework will not be accepted beyond the close of a unit.Back to Top
How can parents help with homework?
Double check that your son or daughter is doing the correct assignment by checking the homework link above. Have them bring their homework home even if it complete for two reasons. First, you can see that they did the correct assignment and if they left any questions blank. Secondly, you can see that they did put the effort into the work and that it is complete. They will loose points if they did not complete the assignments on time. Have your son or daughter bring the Quick Review book home. This book with give you a quick overview of the topics we are covering in class.Back to Top
