Due: 9/7: T- chart - brain storm list of possible topics for the writing assignment Upcoming dates: 9/12: Rough draft due 9/18: Final copy of Gold in Me Personal Narrative is due While there is much discussion about how much homework a student should have, I believe that homework does give students extra time to read and write. Also, reading at home helps students to become life long readers. Your child will be expected to read about 20 minutes each night. Reading for 20 minutes each day helps to improve reading skills dramatically. Some homework assignments will be short term - started in class and due the next day. Other assignments such as essays or narratives will be long term assignments where students will be working on the assignment at school as well as at home. Please ask your child about their assignments - it is a good way to see what they are working on all day at school.
