The students have been completing the 7th grade writing prompt this week.

Next week 5/12 will be a busy week for the classes.  

Monday 5/12 & Tuesday 5/13:  All writing prompts done - 
Mini search about Shakespeare and read shortened script of Romeo and Juliet.
Wednesday 5/15: Vocab is due

Wednesday 5/ 14 - Friday 5/16:  Start Reading Seedfolks book in class - homework will be assigned 
for each section of the book.  Check the Calander for nightly reading assignments.

Friday 5/16;  view the school play - Romeo and Juliet - Progress reports go home.

Remember to continue to read each day for at least 20 minutes.

week we are starting our study of the adventure genre.  Get ready for the great Team 2 Iditaread 
Reading Race.....

Homework this week:  Of course you need to be reading your independent reading book each day. 
Finish this up - you will have a class book next week.

Due Tuesday 2/26: List of 10 items you would want if you were lost in the wilderness - things you 
could carry in a back pack AND a paragraph explaining why you selected these items.

Wednesday 2/27: Assign vocabulary - word wise packet due 3/5
Due:  any late work: vocab,or book report   must be turned in today to show up on 
the progress report.

Due Thursday 2/ 28: Iditarod mini search due and musher selected. Report out on Iditaread team 
and name.
Due Friday 2/ 29:   Progress report day

Homework for 11/5 -- 11/9: Students are reading a class novel, Dragan Wings by Lawrence Yep. It 
is 
a historical fiction novel set in California in the early 1900's. 

Students will be expected to read 1 chapter each night and complete the study questions.

Our focus this week will be working on our first book report that will include a discussion of the 
elements of literature: conflict, setting , characters, a summary, discussion of theme, reflection, 
opinions and of course some new vocab.
