information! If you are a club adviser, please email Mrs. (Fiandaca) 
Avery with any information about your club (meeting days, times and

Civil Rights Team

Ms. Kramer and Ms. Hatt are leading these change-makers who wish 
to make our school a better place. Join them for their weekly 
meetings every Wednesday in room 019 after school (we hear 
popcorn is served!).

AIM Program

The AIM Program is TONS of fun! AIM meets every Tuesday and 
Thursday after school until 5 p.m. A snack is served. Homework is 
done for a little while. You need a ride at 5 p.m., as there is 
no late bus for this activity. They work on leadership skills, 
community service, martial arts, and all kinds of fun things. See 
Mrs. Carlson in Guidance for more information on signing up! IT'S 
ALL FREE!

Yearbook

Mrs. (Fiandaca) Avery is the yearbook adviser for her second 
year! She'll be really needing the experienced yearbook students 
to help her learn the ropes of yearbook advising this year! 
Meetings are on Wednesdays after school in the library.

Student Council

Ms. Bruce is in charge of these student activists who are making 
positive changes all around BMS.They meet on Tuesdays or 
Thursdays every week in room 121. Students are chosen to 
represent their teams through elections in September every year. 
Any student may attend the meetings to share any concerns or 
ideas they have for our school.

Spanish Club

Sr. Sferes and Senorita Brazier are co-advisers of this group! 
The club meets monthly. Its purpose is to promote an appreciation 
of the Spanish language and culture. Meetings are FUN and always 
include some type of Hispanic/Mexican food at no charge. This 
year they are sponsoring two students from Safe Passage, Marvin 
and Dulce. Safe Passage is an organization founded by the late 
Hanley Denning of Yarmouth to provide schooling to youngsters 
whose parents scavenged the Guatemala City Dump for a living. 
Other activities include arts projects such as Papel Cortado, 
Spanish travel videos, and popular family films shown in Spanish 
with English subtitles. See Senor Sferes (room 104) or Senorita 
Brazier (room 3) if you have any questions. Be sure to sign up on 
the Guidance bulletin board.

Art & Culture Club

See the art teachers for more info. This is a COOL club that 
allows students to do just about anything art-related when the 
club meets. The art part of the club was a student's idea that 
was implemented with YOBO funds from last year! They meet every 
Thursday through Oct. 23. Ms. Mozden and Ms. Sherman are also 
guest leaders of this group!

smelling mighty tasty around our building after school when these 
junior chefs are at work!

Alateen Meetings

Anyone who is interested in talking about how alcohol has 
affected you in some way is welcome to join these meetings with 
Ms. Smith in the sewing room. They meet every Tuesday from 2:15 
p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

BMS Peer Educators

This is a group of 12 eighth graders who meet every other 
advisory period with Mrs. (Fiandaca) Avery. These students are 
nonminated by their teachers at the end of the seventh grade 
year. They are leaders, responsible students who want to make a 
difference in the school. They talk about important teen topics, 
and try to promote awareness among their peers. This is a full-
year commitment for the students who are nominated. To find out

For the talented seventh and eighth graders who are strong 
leaders in our school. Ms.Drapeau is in charge of this 
dedicated group of students!
