From the desk of Officer Pete Wentworth, School Resource Officer
The Biddeford Police Department along with the Biddeford School District
have been working closely together over the years to provide an integrated
approach to handling, educating and facilitating many similar services for
the students who attend the Biddeford School System.
The school Resource Officer educates students on issues and topics around
bullying and particular incidents that occur within the school.
This position at the school is a wonderful tool for
parents/guardians to meet with a representative of the police department in
order to assist their child with issues that rise to a level addressable by
a police officer. The officer coordinates many efforts with the school
guidance department as an attempt to make services available to those in
need of help and aid.
The role and responsibilities of the School Resource Officer are very
dynamic in nature which essentially have become a very valuable asset to the
well being of the students attending the Biddeford Middle School.
