What is a "RUBRIC?"
A rubric is an assessment tool that lists the criteria for a piece of work. For example, in a piece of
writing in your Language Arts class, what often "counts" are purpose, organization, details, voice, and
mechanics. A rubric also breaks each of the criteria down into degrees of quality, ranging from poor to
excellent. Many of the projects I assign this year will include a rubric. The rubrics below are for
projects that may or may not be assigned throughout your two years of Spanish in grades 7 and 8.
