Here are some 2012-2013 2nd grade stories/activities:
Earlier in the school year, we worked on some fun stories (we learn the vocabulary via gesture and games, then we use the vocabulary in mini stories acted out by the kids, and finally we act out a main story) and I followed up by making Keynote presentations of these stories. Unfortunately, I have not been able to upload all of these stories successfully to the web page.
BUT . . . here are a few in Powerpoint:

February-March 2013
We just finished a vocab-chant activity about the items we need for school. The kids made backpacks in poster form and filled them with the items from the chant below.
Dans mon sac a dos (a rap written by Mme Rispoli)

April 2013 We are beginning a new story, and as always, we will learn the key vocabulary in a series of mini stories and activities leading up to the main story. It is about a duck (un canard) who is tempted by the sacks of grain in a small barn. It sticks its head and neck through a crack in the boards to get to the grain, then gets stuck! The other animals try to free the duck, but it is the cunning farm rat who succeeds in the end, but his reason for helping is a selfish one.
The kids will learn names of common farm animals and some common everyday actions and expressions as they work toward acting out the final story.
NOTE: We just completed the above story! We acted it out in 2 groups. You can see our versions by clicking on the "Coin Coin Coinçé" links above. The author and illustrators' names are on the title page. We adapted it for our class, both to simplify the language and to add our pictures. The original version is wonderful and available in both French and English. I highly recommend purchasing a copy from Scholastic or elsewhere.
A SPECIAL GUEST:
On Thursday May 23, an exchange student spending the year at CHRHS will visit us and teach us a song and game in French. Marie is 19 years old and has worked with young primary school children in France since her completion of lycée (high school). We are excited to meet her!
