It's time to get started. When a reporter goes on a job assignment, he or
she must get the facts, just the facts. By going to the various websites
I've provided on the Links page, you should have no trouble in gathering the
necessary information. Here are some questions you should be trying to find
answers to for your magazine article:
Who are the Wabanaki? How long have they lived in Maine? Where do they
live today?
For the tribe you are writing about, what interesting historical
information do you feel is important for people to know in order to better
understand that tribe?
Looking only at your chosen tribe, what are TWO(a paragraph for each)
cultural beliefs or traditions that they had and may still practice even
today?
Describe a recent or current environmental or political issue that your
chosen tribe is dealing with today.
By answering the above questions thoroughly, you should have no problem in
writing your five paragraphs for the magazine. Remember, your boss is
expecting great work from you.
