Choosing a High School - Decision making time!
The High Schools require a decision about which school you plan to attend by
the end of January, 2009.
Patty Brinkman, 8th grade counselor will be speaking with each 8th grader
over the next thirty days to check-in about this decision-making process.
NEWS: Students may visit or shadow any high school. Portland High School
and Casco Bay High School set up the shadow days through Lyman Moore's
counselor. Deering High School sets up the shadow days through their own
School Counselor Guidance Office.
All three High Schools tried to host an Open House in December -- but
Portland High School's Open House was snowed out and is postponed until
January 8th. You can still visit any high school, talk with administration
and possibly still have your child "shadow" or visit the school.
Ask for the summary description of each of these high schools - intro
booklets that describe the schedule, available from our Lyman Moore School
Counselor office.
Portland High School and Casco Bay High School have also provided in-depth
course descriptions about many classes.

For high school questions, you may contact me by phone, e-mail or just stop
in the school. I am happy to meet early or stay late to accommodate you if
you would like to have a conversation about the high school choices.
