I began my career with MSAD 35 in September 1977, as a Home Economics (now
Family and Consumer Sciences)teacher at Marshwood High School, a position I
held for 18 years. While teaching at MHS, I attended the University of
Southern Maine, where I earned a Masters Degree in education, with a school
counseling concentration. I then made the switch to elementary guidance. I
worked at Central School for three years before joining the staff at MGWS.
I enjoy traveling and so far, Paris is my favorite city to visit.
I also have a fondness (understatement!) for dogs, especially terriers. I
have a West Highland Terrier, Gordie, and a Cairn Terrier/Yorkie mix, Cooper.
The goals of the MGWS Guidance Department are:
1. To help raise student aspirations
2. To help students reach their full potential and to prepare them to
become tomorrow's adults
a. work with students in the social/emotional domain
b. work with students in the career domain
c. work with students in the academic domain, when needed
3. To provide information and appropriate referral services to parents
and staff
