Our Level System

8th Grade Homework Policy

LEVEL 1

Student is meeting all of the due dates.

Student is meeting all of the responsibilities in each class.

Student is passing all of his or her classes.

LEVEL 2

Student is not passing in nightly homework on a regular basis.

Student is failing one class.

**Student must make a plan with his or her teachers that will enable movement back to Level 1. This plan is made by the student and must be signed by the parent and returned. In addition, the student must stay after school with that teacher on the after school help night. If the grade does not increase, the student may be placed on level 3 the following week.

LEVEL 3

Student is not following his or her plan while on level 2.

Student owes work in one or more classes.

Student is not completing homework.

Student is failing one or more classes.

**Student must now follow a plan developed by the teachers. The student will stay after school for the entire week while on level 3, with the exception of Wednesdays. If the student does not stay after school, an office referral will be made and an in school suspension will be assigned. On Monday, if work has been passed in, the student will be moved to either level 2 or 1.

IMPORTANT:

-Occasionally, a “reward activity” will be planned for anyone on Level 1.

-Any student on Level 2 may not take part and Level 3 will not take part in this activity.
