The counseling department at the Middle School of the Kennebunks is
comprised of 2 Guidance Counselors, 1 Social Worker, and 1 Secretary. Our
goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for all of the students
at MSK to overcome the barriers they face to academic success. This is
achieved through a combination of services and opportunities, including
individual and group counseling, consultation with teachers and staff,
communication and support to parents, and working with outside resources to
coordinate services. In addition to these responsibilities, the department
also coordinates standardized testing within the school, works with families
to complete applications for private schools, and is involved in school
transition activities, parent evenings and the class scheduling process.
The counselors also play active roles in our Bullying Prevention Program,
MSK's Incident Command Team, MSK's Civil Rights Team, and the
various "special" days (Culteral Immersion Day, Drug and Alcohol
Awareness Day, Wellness Day, and Career Day).
