I grew up in Kennebunk and received my undergraduate degree in
Communications at the University of Southern Maine. I continued my
education at the University of New England in the field of education, where
I graduated from the Teaching Certification Program. I later received
my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on literacy.
I have taught fifth and sixth grade, and this will be my eighth year at
the middle school. I live in Kennebunk with my husband, Mark, and my three
children. My twins are enrolled in the high school as seniors, and my oldest
is a graduate student in Meteorology.
I love animals and have an assortment of critters! I have two Shih Tzus
(Winnie and Porter)and two cats(William and Ginger). For leisure activities
I love to dance, paint, garden, read, and travel.
I believe my work as a teacher is to help every child feel successful in
undertaking new challenges. These new opportunities for growth may take
place within the classroom or during outside activities. I believe every
child has a right to feel secure in their learning environment and to feel
comfortable with classroom participation. I also believe that every student
should have the opportunity to learn to exercise responsibility for their
choices and their work.
