39 years experience with Middle School teaching IBMYP coordinator for Middle School of the Kennebunks Maine Middle School teacher of the year in 1998 Masters degree in non European history Extensive travel experience(over 40 countries) Career Ladder status in M.S.A.D. #71(first teacher in the district to achieve this) Team leader of Myers team since 1983 Co Chair of Accreditation team for the Middle School Member of the Middle School Transition team Founder and organizer of the Middle School Geography Bee with Kennebunk Savings Bank Organizer of the National Geographic Geography Bee for the Middle School (1986-2006) Consultant for the New England League of Middle Schools Chairman of the District Social Studies curriculum committee Maine representative for the NCEE Financial Fitness program Academic honors or Recent courses taken: Named to be a member of the 2003-04' Views of the East Institute at Bowdoin College-Seven all day and evening seminars on Korea, China and Japan. Each participant receives $200 worth of books on these countries for their classroom plus $300 worth of books for their school library. Sponsored by the Maine Humanities Council and the Maine World Affairs Council and the 5 College Center for East Asian Studies in Amherst, MA. Named by the National Council for Economic Education to be one of 12 U.S. educators involved in the Training of Writers program in Bucharest, Romania in Sept. 2003. Participants will be required to develop an economics lesson plan that uses an interactive approach. The 12 American educators will work jointly with teachers from 9 different Eastern European countries. July, 2006- Trained in International Baccaluareate(MYP) -Humanties- Level 1 July, 2007-Trained as an IBMYP coordinator- Level 1 September, 2007- Named to the executive board of Global Children United July, 2008-Trained as IBMYP coordinator- Level 2
