Hello and welcome to my web page. As I update this site for the start of another school year, I can't
help but marvel at how quickly the years have flown by and how much my life has changed in the
course of my 13 years at The Middle School of the Kennebunks. I started my teaching career at
Kennebunk as an intern in 1995, was hired immediately after my program ended and have taught at
the middle school ever since. I love my job, my school and I love teaching language arts. I also love
to read, cook, and anything that has to do with being outdoors. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
English and returned to USM's Extended Teacher Education Program in 1995 to attain my Masters in
Elementary Education. I am also certified to teach Secondary English. Prior to becoming a teacher, I
was employed in various business capacities; I worked in the art department at Carroll Reed and was
a recruiter for Manpower Technical. I was also employed for a number of years (right out of college)
at The Maine Youth Center. I currently live in a beautiful spot in Cumberland with my husband and
stepson Jake. It's a bit of a commute to the middle school but worth it to me to continue working at
the school I love and with the people I have come to view as family. This year I will be the sole
language arts teacher for the Bibeau team. I am excited for the start of the school year and I’m
looking forward to seeing all my students from last year and getting to know my new students. Let's
get started!
I want all my students to feel cared about, happy, and competent and
successful in their work. My goal is to help my students become independent
learners and successful, fulfilled individuals who are curious, motivated and
care about the world around them.
