***  ROTC from Lewiston HS will be here for both lunches on Thursday, June 15 to talk with any interested students. They will be at a table outside the Cafe. See your counselor if you have any questions..

***  Interested in EMT training? LRTC is hoping to open up a section of EMT for next fall. Space will be limited. Contact your counselor ASAP if you are interested!

***  NEW EVENT - Bowdoin for ME will be on Monday, June 26 for any interested rising seniors. Take a tour, attend information sessions, eat on campus (always worth the trip over!) and participate in a mock admissions panel. This is a GREAT chance to demonstrate your interest in Bowdoin and check it out now! Register at bowdoin.edu/admissions/maine-day

***  LRTC Orientation is next Tuesday, June 13. Please be at school by 7:20 to board the regular LRTC bus for your Orientation. Permission slips are now available through your advisor, or in Guidance. You will get to spend more time with your LRTC instructor in your lab and also get to meet the other students who will be there with you next year. We will return to school by 11:00 AM that day. See  Ms. Bush if you have questions.

***  SENIORS! Central Maine Community College will be here the following Wednesdays from 8-11:30 on May 17, 24, and 31 in the main office conference room. Still need to do an application (fees waived and no essay)? Need to do your Accuplacer testing? Need to redo your Accuplacer testing? Questions about CM Connect and how to find information? Just sign up in Guidance to come down on one of those days to meet with the rep from CM and get your answers!

***  Bates Maine Day for Maine High School Juniors is Friday, May 19th.  This day will include workshops focused on selective college admissions, examples are: Affording College, Mock Admissions Interview, Student Panel, and Mock Application Read.  The day will also include lunch on campus and a campus tour.  Students must register by Wednesday, May 10th at:  https://www.bates.edu/admission/maine-day/

***  SENIORS - if you applied for the Mitchell Institute Scholarship, remember that the remaining materials are due to them by May 1 - that is Monday!

***  Current Juniors interested in taking an online college course next year through UMaine should see their school counselor asap.  UMaine Academe is open for registration with several different subject options, and these courses are free.

***  JUNIORS and 3rd YEAR STUDENTS your state testing is the SAT, which will be held on Wednesday, April 5. Get ready for the big day! You will have science testing the day after on April 6. See your school counselor if you have questions.

***  DEPOSITS for AP EXAMS are due next week! Please submit $15.00 per AP exam that you plan to take. Payments go to Mrs. Carter or it can be paid on line. The full fee for an AP exam is $ 84.00, or $53.00 for students who get free or reduced lunch. Please see Ms. Bush or Mrs. Carter if you have questions.

***  SUMMER PHARMACY program at Husson University is July 24-26, 2017. This is a FREE program for students interested in going into the field of pharmacy. ***  SOPHOMORE GIRLS! SELF = Sustainable Energy Leaders of Future  (SELF) will be June 25-28 at UMaine. This is a free program giving you oversight of responsible care of forest ecosystems as a building block for renewable energy. Must be at least a sophomore from rural Maine, be interested in science and technology, write an essay and get one letter of recommendation to apply by March 31. ***  UMaine Consider Engineering program is FREE for juniors interested in exploring various fields in engineering. This is a fantastic program offered on the Orono campus. ***  LRTC Field Trip is this Thursday! Permission slips are in the Guidance Office and are due on Wednesday. This is a chance for sophomores and juniors interested in applying to LRTC for next year to visit up to 3 programs. Application information for LRTC is also available in Guidance. ***  Maine Youth Wilderness Leadership Program culminates in a 9 day backpacking trip in Baxter State Park this August 2017. HS sophomores and juniors can apply to be environmental leaders at www.friendsofbaxter.org by February 8. This is a FREE program! Learn from a geologist, botanist, Native American cultural educator, photographer, artist, writer, Park ranger, as well as 2 experienced wilderness leaders from Chewonki. This is a super opportunity to hone your outdoors and leadership skills!!
