***  LIKE CADD? Creative Design at CAD Camp will be July 5-10 at the 
University of Maine (Orono). Scholarships are available and applications must 
be in by May 1; scholarship and registration forms are in the Guidance 
Office. This is sponsored by the UMaine College of Engineering and the ME 
Bound Adventure Center. It is both techy and outdoorsy! Go to

***  SUMMER WORK? AND A SCHOLARSHIP?? Maine Conservation Corps is looking for 
people to join the Field Team Program. You work with a team of young people 
in an area of the state building trails, either on the Appalachian Trail or 
at the state and municipal parks. Some teams work on community projects. You 
must be 18 years old. Dates run June 22 - August 14 or June 22- November 13 
(they will flex the start date if the school year goes too long). Pay is 
$240.00/week plus health insurance, plus $1000 or $1250 of Americorps 
education award (scholarship) if eligible. Application deadline is May 1. For

***  NURSING DISCOVERY CAMP at the University of Maine at Fort Kent is a 
great way to learn more about what it means to go into the field of Nursing 
and it lets you job shadow at a hospital. Dates are June 29-July 2 and cost 
is $200.00. Right now there is a waiting list for the 2009 program, so sign

***  TECHNOLOGY CAMP at the University of Maine at Fort Kent is also a great 
way to learn about career opportunities in technology and computer science. 
Learn more about game programming, web design, video production, 
virtualization, and counter-hacking. Dates are June 29-July 2 and cost is

***  DANCE, MUSIC & FUN! Youth Arts Program through Bates College runs July 
20- August 8 (Monday through Friday, 9-4) at the Mays Center at Bates. Learn 
hip hop, jazz, modern dance, and ballet; learn singing, rhythm, drumming and 
world music. Ages are 6-9, 10-13, 14-17. All student perform in the Bates 
Dance Festival Finale. Costs include lunch and snacks, as well as tickets to

Maine; learning in multiple settings: classroom, boat, mountain and seashore;

***  ROCHESTER SCHOLARS is a summer program through University of Rochester 
(NY). From forensic science to communication, theater to engineering, they 
have a wide range of programs. For example, in one program, "What's Up Doc?," 
students put sutures in pigskins, learn the requirements of medical school 
and hear the pros and cons of being a doctor.  Go to

***  SUMMER ARTISTS? Try Savannah College of Art & Design (GA) with 
residential summer seminars for high school students at its Savannah and

PROMYS program - a PROgram in Mathematics for Young Scientists. June 28- 
August 8 is an intensive experience in creative mathematical exploration for 
65 ambitious high school students with an exceptionally strong interest in 
math. Work with research mathematicians and scientists currently working in
