*** Substance Abuse Counseling Services: Lynley Turkington of Community Concepts meets with students individually, in groups or with families. This service is a free and confidential service to students at Poland Regional High School and Bruce M. Whittier Middle School. The purpose of this service is to help kids stay in school and perform better while they are here by addressing behavioral or emotional problems which hinder their ability to participate in the educational process. Lynley is a LADC who has worked for four years at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in the same capacity. *** Molly Nelson from the Sexual Assault Crisis Center will be in the Guidance office every Thursday from 10-11:30am. "Drop In" is available at this time or come in to schedule a confidential appointment. Sign up with anyone in Guidance. General information about the Drop-In Program: Anyone can use the Drop-In program. A staff person from the Sexual Assault Crisis Center will work with students to help them identify their needs while they are dealing with issues and help ensure they are taking steps they need to and want to, in order to live a healthy life. It is also important to know that there are no notes taken during a drop-in visit, they are not therapists and they can come anytime. We believe... We care... We listen! *** PROGRAM FOR GRIEVING CHILDREN & TEENS - These are groups to help teens and children who have suffered the loss of a loved one. The 10 week WINTER PROGRAM will begin Tuesday, Jan. 12th at St. Phillips Church in Auburn. Contact Joan Spitzform at 1-800-482-7412 ext. 1460 for more information.
