The new year has begun and one of my resolutions is to keep up with the website. Okay it's already two weeks in and I'm just writing, but I haven't given up yet! The second quarter is coming to a close. This brings us to the hectic "third quarter". Many things go on during our third quarter and here is a heads up. First of all two big projects begin, the Academic Fair and the Oration Contest. We will be choosing topics for both and getting a head start for the research. Please talk to your child about possible Academic Fair topics at home. Try to have your child branch out and choose a different area from last year. If they did something on music or dance have them choose a time in history, or a science topic that might interest them. The Oration Speech Contest topic is: A time when volunteers made a difference. Students are asked to select a time in American history when individuals have banded together to improve quality of life. Participants should choose one volunteer project or volunteer-driven movement and discuss it in their speech. Going home is an outline of questions to be considered as they write. We will be writng it in class, however if some thought goes into it ahead of time, it makes the process that much easier for your child. We will also be starting up with the Way of the Cross prayer after February vacation. Hold on to your hats everyone, we are in for a wild, but exciting ride!!
