We know we're a few days late on this, but we've FINALLY posted the 5 Finalists for our Best Website contest on our Facebook page at
https://www.facebook.com/TeacherWebInc
. You have from now until midnight next Wednesday, May 22nd, to vote on your favorite. The winner will receive a free year of TeacherWeb, and the 4 runners-up will get $15 Starbucks giftcards, so vote wisely! The Finalists' websites are posted in their own photo album on our Facebook page, so check those out first, visit the sites, click around, then come back and vote via our poll.
Thanks for your participation - we were amazed by all the entries and fantastic websites that we got to review, and if you didn't end up in the Top 5, know that it's because there are so many stellar educators out there using our products to reach their students and families that it was almost impossible for us to choose.
Thanks again,
The folks at TeacherWeb

Fluency Readings
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS; font-size: 14pt;">An important step in growing as a reader is developing fluency. This means that as a reader, you can read accurately, with appropriate speed, and expression. When someone reads this way, it sounds pleasant, is easy to listen to, and has enough expression to help the listener understand and enjoy what's being read. This means no "robot reading" or speed reading, but reading that sounds like talking. <br /> </span></span> <div align="center"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"></span><img src="rk8_girl4.gif" alt="rk8_girl4.gif" border="0" /><img src="rk8_bookbag2.gif" alt="rk8_bookbag2.gif" border="0" /><img src="readingboy.gif" alt="readingboy.gif" border="0" height="169" width="180" /><img src="rk8_bookbox1.gif" alt="rk8_bookbox1.gif" border="0" /><br /> <span style="font-size: 14pt;"></span></div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS; font-size: 14pt;"> In second grade, we like to record ourselves reading using the program Audacity on our school laptops to hear how fluent we sound and to make goals for ourselves. You can hear us on the links below. <br /> <br /> November: <a href="A-Pilgrim-of-Today.wav">A Pilgrim of Today</a> you can read the words <a href="A-Pilgrim-of-Today.pdf">here</a>.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </span></span> <div align="center"><img src="rk8_divider2.gif" alt="rk8_divider2.gif" border="0" /><br /> </div> <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS; font-size: 14pt;"><br /> <br /> </span></span>
