Credits and Debits (and connections to the three key financial statements).
This week our class will work with Reading #9. We'll try to develop some
questions for our assessment... taken late in the week.
I've figured out how to capture the video lectures from Indiana University.
We'll take a look at some of the college Accouting videos to see if we can add
to some of our current knowledge.
Make sure you read all of Reading #9, and take notes on the question handout.
You should use these notes for the assessment (see note above).

Hope your Spring Break was awesome. Kudos to the Baseball team for beating
Noble (Chamblee and Woodbury hit the newspapers!)
This week we'll be spending class time with Reading #7... rather longer than
the usual reading... but not at all difficult either.
Monday I will had out the thirty or so questions that follow the reading and I
would like you to prepare these questions for a Friday quiz.
It's going to be important this week to have good notes on the handout
mentioned above. I'd very much like to see each student do their own notes on
each question... neatly... and be able to show me the results before taking
Friday's quiz.
I'm in the process of negotiating another guest speaker in the Accounting
field. Hopefully he will be able to share with you his view of the field and
his typical work schedule. If he can't visit us Wednesday, we will ask him to
come in week after next when I return from my seek away (taking a course in
Cambridge, MA).

This week we will concentrate on the skills outlined in Reading #5. Each day

Since most of our work will be done in class, the single assignment at home
will be to read and take notes on Reading #6 (given out last week). I will
give you the key questions handout on Wednesday.
There will be no quiz this week, but positive participation each day will
count as a grade for you!

Expectations will consist of your reproducing the Balance Sheet, the Cash Flow
statement, and the Income statement... and all of the sections... without the
use of notes. An easier issue will be to indicate you can account for a cash
sale, a credit sale, and the purchase of a fixed asset... showing how it
affects each of the three key financial statements.
This week I will give you Reading #6 so you can get ahead by exploring it.
Quarter grades end Friday, and all overdue work will be required by Wednesday
at the latest!
