Weeks Beginning October 6 (Mon.)

1. We continue with "the build." We'll install mobos in cases and use the
manual to wire the case to the board.

2. We continue discussion of the important ideas in Chapter 3, A+.

3. We practice a bit of bin-hex-decimal conversions each day.

4. We continue our initial reading blocks from 8 to 8:30 and from 10:30 to 11:00.

5. We work on Discovery, Chapter 3 Networking Basics. Display the Flash online
material on the shop projector and discuss as we go.

6. We'll get the "Organizer" for Discovery, Chapter 3... this time with
answers to the 24 pages of key ideas. All important to understand to find it
networking easier later on in the course.

7. We await our MSDN accounts... the delivery of our HDs and DVDs so we can
plan application installs in your shop production machines.

Week Beginning Sept 22 (Mon.)

1. This week (and next) we concentrate discussion on Chapter 2 of both the A+
and the Cisco online Discovery material.

2. You should attempt as much as possible of the reading of these two chapters
in the Voc shop room during school hours, but in any case, we will attempt to
complete the work by the end of next week on both!

3. We continue to become experts on binary and hexidecimal.

4. We'll begin the process of building our current desktop systems.

5. We'll continue with team mini-problems in class, and we'll sometimes assign
a bit of special research to various students.

Expect a quiz on Friday (topics to be decided during the week).

Week Beginning Sept 15 (Mon.)

Welcome back!

1. This week we must wrap up A+ Chapter 1 topics and some meaningful activities.

2. We wrap up the online reading to Academy Discovery Networking Chapter 1.

3. We prep for our first online quiz with Networking.

4. We practice binary and hex conversions.

5. We do a survey of Ch. 2 in the A+ text (Operating System software).

6. We double-check "needs" (spiral notebook, Activity/Work Log, folder, X-word
puzzle)

7. We do our "reading block(s)" daily. We'll read a short article on "How
Computers Work," on Monday, for example.

8. We discuss basic troubleshooting and client communications.

9. We may examine one or two machines that have "issues"  ;)

Weeks Beginning Sept 4 (Thurs.)and Sept. 8 (Mon.)

This week and next we'll take a good amount of time to:

1. Talk among ourselves about your plans and goals

2. Discuss our plans for your course.

3. Work together in classroom "home" construction of the SRVC IT Pod.

4. Get an introduction to the class (course syllabus, Intro KeyNote slide show
I made for you, Rubics for grading, textbooks and online Cisco site).

5. Discuss the SRVC IT Blog and how we can participate.

6. Get to my web page and see the various parts to it... how can we make it
useful?

7. Work on our work/activity calendar.

8. Begin both course modules (A+ and Networking)

9. Build our production computers.
