EDU 508 Technology Integration in the Classroom
The use of technology has become not only a necessity for students learning in the digital age, but also a requirement for educators teaching digital age students. Since the inception of the METS, Michigan Educational Technology Standards, educators must change the way instruction is delivered and learning is structured. This course introduces tools, skills, knowledge, and strategies related to the effective use of technology in a classroom environment. Emphasis is placed on the integration of technology resources as an integral part of classroom instruction. It will provide an opportunity for teachers to explore quality Internet based tools and websites and evaluate their use and implementation into instruction. It will expose educators to emerging technologies as well as provide a forum for discussion of best practices of educational technology issues surrounding Internet use and technology in the classroom.
