Homework

Students are given ample time to finish most assignments in class. However,
any unfinished work will be taken home to complete and will be returned the
following morning to receive full credit. All late work has 10 percent
deducted from the final grade the first day it is late and a zero will be
given after two days late.

For book reports, all books need to be approved by me for book report
projects prior to beginning the project assigned.

Homework assignments will be given occasionally. "Other" homework you
should work on EVERY NIGHT includes reading, practicing spelling words,
practicing math flashcards, cursive handwriting, and journal writing.

In Math, all students are to work on math flashcards/practice/homework/games
at home for 160 minutes per month (about 10 minutes a day, 4 days a week).
Please refer to the www.everydaymathonline.com website for extra practice.

In Reading, students are to read 15 minutes every night for a total of 85
minutes a week.

Our Student Planner will have assignments written in all week for Reading (15
minutes nightly reading) and Math (10 minutes nightly practice). Parents are
to initial the Student Planner verifying that this homework did take place.
