Mrs. Werth

Meet Mrs. Werth ~ I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a concentration in 
childrens theater and elementary education, from Our Lady of the Lake      
University in San Antonio, Texas. My Master of Arts degree, with a 
concentration in reading, is from the University of Toledo.  The education 
beyond my masters degree is in gifted education.  

I have served as a building representative on various district committees 
including the 
Language Arts, Math,and Professional Development committees. I also 
represented Douglas Road Elementary on the district Gifted and Talented 
committee. 

     I was oneof four teachers from MRE, and 360 from the state, 
whowere selected as MI-CHAMPS for 2008-2009 Through the MACUL foundation.  
This is an organization for technology in education.   
     At DRE I worked with one of my fifth grade classes to petition 
the district to start a Bedford recycling program.  We successfully 
instituted both the plastifoam and paper recycling programs in tne 
district.  The following year I represented Bedford Public Schools and 
presented our district's recycling model at the National School Board 
Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. 
      
     In addition I have served as a chairperson of a North Central 
Accreditation visitation team to determine whether the Plymouth Canton 
schools could be NCA accredited.
     
     I have taught third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.I also served as 
the reading specialist and gifted coordinator at Douglas Road School.  While 
serving in that capacity I was responsible for bringing the Odyssey of the 
Mind and Michigan Future Problem Solver programs to Bedford.I was awarded 
the Outstanding Educator of the Year for Douglas Road Elementary,1992.
