Mr. Fentin graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts
(Amherst) with a B.A. degree in Political Science in 1976. Fentin earned a
M.A. degree in United States History from Wayne State University in 1996 and
a second Master's Degree in Library and Information Science at Wayne State
University in 2011. Fentin spent two and a half years as a Peace Corps
Volunteer in Quito, Ecuador as a teacher at the National Institute for the
Blind. In 2004, Fentin was selected among 50 teachers in the United States
for a two-week intensive study tour of Japan by the Toyota International
Teacher Program. In 2006,as part of Building with Books, Fentin travelled
with 8 high school students from Michigan to Mali, West Africa to build a
primary school in a small village. Mr. Fentin has been teaching Social Studies at CMA since
1995.
