| Fifth grade TAG students learn many new math concepts over the course of the
school year. September will be "Prime Time" as we dive deeply into multiples,
factors and factorization. These concepts will be useful to us as we move
later into more advanced work with fractions and decimals.
Students will keep math notebooks with their daily work in it. Math homework
will be given throughout the year. This homework will provide practice of
concepts worked on in the classroom. Math homework typically is given on
Monday and Wednesdays. Students will have two nights to complete their
homework.
Math class is a time to explore and engage in the subject matter. Students
will work in whole group, small group, and individual settings. It is
expected that each child will participate in class, be prepared, and make
responsible choices.
