November 23

We have a new CGN News Team reporting live each morning at Central Grade.  The news
is broadcast to all of the classrooms at school.  If you would like to watch your daughter or son
on TV, you are invited to stop by the classroom one day at 8:00 a.m. and watch our morning announcements.  They run from 8:05 - 8:10 a.m., so you can still get to work by 8:30.

Just a reminder for your calendar.  The week we return from Thanksgiving break, we have full days of school on Monday through Wednesday.  Thursday the 3rd and Friday the 4th are half days for students, and record days for staff.  This marks the end of first trimester.  Report cards will go home on Friday, December 11th.

Intramural basketball starts right after the holiday.  Intramurals will be on Mondays and Fridays this year.  Mr. Farley is still in need of referees.  If you are available on either (or both) of these days between 11:45 and 12:15, please contact the office.  It's a great program that really benefits the kids, and it works because of parent support.  Thanks for considering!

Good luck to the Lego League team, the TC Terrors!  They will be competing in                     Grandville on Saturday.  We wish you success and know you'll have fun.

November 19

Congratulations to Madeline Merwin and Erin Huls!  These two fifth grade students were selected by their peers to serve as our Student Council Representatives in a class election held yesterday.  We are proud of  you and know you will serve us well!

November 18

Just a reminder that next week is a short week, with school on Monday and Tuesday only, due to the holiday.  I wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving and safe travels.  I am grateful for all of your children, your kindness, and your support.  You a a wonderful group of people to work with.

Get into the spirit of our school!  Check out the new spirit wear shirts displayed outside of the Central Grade office.  Order forms went home with your child this week and are due back on December 2nd.

Due to the size of our student population, Mr. Peters and Mrs. O'Hearn are reminding parents to please use the assigned drop-off and pick-up doors for your children.  The fifth graders are to enter and exit the building through the "C" doors on Seventh Street.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Mr. Farley, our fabulous gym teacher, is once again offering intramural basketball after Thanksgiving break.  On Thursdays and Fridays, all interested fifth graders can go into the gym on lunch recess to play.  At Open House, several parents volunteered to be referees, but we could still use a few more.  If you are available between 11:45 - 12:15 on intramural days and think serving as a referee sounds like an activity you'd enjoy, please let me know and I'll pass along your name to Mr. Farley.

Thank you to Annie DeVries for graciously offering to be the PTO representative for our
classroom!  We appreciate you and all of the time you give to Central Grade School.
