Jaye Lynn Trapp began teaching in 1990, and is beginning her 13th year in the TAG
Program. She loves working with the students and staff at Central Grade! She has
a Bachelor of Science Degree (with a major in social science and minors in English,
art and elementary education) and Masters' Degree in Humanities from Central
Michigan University. Jaye Lynn has served on the district social studies committee
for the past eleven years helping to develop curriculum and assessment. She is a
member of the local chapter of the National Writing Project and is a Michigan
Geographic Alliance consultant. Jaye Lynn loves spending time with her husband,
Marty, and their son. Her interests include traveling, hiking, biking, reading, gardening,
and yoga.
Tracey Westerman started teaching in 1987. She has taught grades K, 1, 3, and
5. Tracey has taught in public, charter, and private school settings. Tracey
has worked on various district committees and is currently mentoring two new
teachers at Central Grade School. Tracey enjoys spending time with husband
Dale and their two children. Her interests include biking, skiing, reading,
cooking and gardening. Originally from Chicago, she is a life long Chicago
Cubs fan who has learned the meaning of the words " wait until next year."
Our mission as educators is to model a love of learning, to encourage
students to become enthusiastic, independent, life-long learners, and to
challenge them to set high goals, take risks, and value themselves and others
as unique individuals.
