Should my child be involved in afterschool activities?

Afterschool activities are a very important part of raising a well rounded
person. However, too many afterschool activities can create stress and
anxiety in a child. Children need their down time as well as time for social
interaction and structured activities. Allowing and encouraging your child
to
be involved is a very positive thing, but make sure that 1) they will be
commited to the activity they choose, 2) that they are not gone every night
of the week and 3) that it is truly something they want to do, not something
they are doing because they feel it will please you.
