Crissman + Beck SWEEP and Math Olympiad

CRISSMAN S.W.E.E.P. - Remember to come to the Science room after school at 
3:50 - 5:30 on the following Tuesday afternoons: Oct.16th, Oct.30th, 
Nov.20th, Dec.4th, Dec.18th, Jan.15th, Jan.29th, Feb.5th, Feb.26th, Mar.19th, 
April 9th, April 23rd, May 7th, May 21st, and June 4th.

BECK S.W.E.E.P. - Remember to come to the Media Center after school at 3:15 -
5:00 on the following Thursday afternoons Oct.11th, Oct.25th, Nov.8th, 
Nov.29th, Dec.13th, Jan.3rd, Jan.24th, Feb.7th, Feb.28th, Mar.14th, Mar.21st, 
April 11th, April 25th(CANCELLED), May 9th, May 23rd and June 6th.

Crissman Kings Chess Club - No one is organizing Chess Club so far this year.
Mr. Sikorski will see if there is enough interest to still have late in May, 
The Crissman 20th Annual Chess Tournament, the exact dates to be announced 
later. This is played at multiple lunch times over a few days at Crissman.

***THE CRISSMAN MATH OLYMPIAD TRYOUT WILL BE ON TUESDAY OCT.23RD AT 3:50 -
5:00PM IN RM. 18. STUDENTS WILL HAVE 1 HR TO COMPLETE THE TRYOUT TEST. THE 
TOP 35 STUDENTS ARE ON THE TEAM. This tryout occured and 21 students are in!
The CRISSMAN MATH OLYMPIAD: **Team members should arrive at RM. 4 at 3:50 to 
begin at 3:55 - 4:25 on the following Wednesday afternoons: Nov. 14th, Dec. 
12th, Jan. 9th, Feb. 13th, March 13th. Pencils and paper will be provided. A 
practice sheet (with solutions) will be given between each Olympiad. Students 
can be picked up at 4:30pm.

THE MEDIA CENTER. STUDENTS WILL HAVE 1 HR FOR THE TRYOUT TEST. THE TOP 35

The BECK MATH OLYMPIAD: **Team members should arrive in the MEDIA CENTER
right after school 3:15 to begin at 3:20 - 3:50pm on the following Tuesday
afternoons: Nov. 13th, Dec.11th, Jan. 8th, Feb. 12th, March 12th. Pencils and
paper will be provided. A practice sheet (with solutions) will be given
between each Olympiad. Students can be picked up at 3:55pm.

Crissman's Team Score of 170 and Beck's Team Score of 169 were both very 
good. They were both high enough for a Top 20% Team Award. We look forward to 
improving on the success we have had this year. Audrey, Bethany, Alec, Katie, 
Jacob, and Mary earned a Silver Pin. David earned a Gold Pin (24 out of 25!) 
All of these students were invited and given recognition at the June 4th 
Board of Education meeting, and a Board Certificate was given.

Thank you to the Crissman P.T.A. and the Beck BFV for their support of Math
Olympiad and many other extra programs we have here at Crissman and Beck. We
are truly Blessed to have such a great Team of parents supporting our efforts
to challenge our students to go beyond the normal and reach for Excellence!

Beck's Team Score of 165 was very good. It was high enough for a Top 20% Team
Award for the first time ever. We look forward to more students taking part
next year and improving on the success we have had this year. Katie, David,
Mary, and Vita earned a Silver pin, were given verbal recognition at the June
6th Board of Education meeting, and a Board Certificate was given.

Crissman's Team Score of 204 was high enough to earn a Top 10% Plaque! 5
years in a row! It was also the highest Math Olympiad team score of all
schools in Utica Comm. Schools. Also, 5 years in a row!

Congratulations Crissman Math Olympiad Team! This is Awesome!! Nick earned a 
Gold Pin and all the other students listed above earned a Silver pin, were 
given verbal recognition at the June 6th Board of Education meeting, and a
