Is make-up work provided when my child is absent?

Yes.  Your child will receive the work missed when absent from class. 
However, your child must present a letter of excuse from you in order to 
receive it.

Is homework graded?

The purpose of homework is to provide additional practice with a particular 
concept.  However, some assignments are graded or worth points.  Students 
will not be notified of graded homework assignments.  It is the students' 
responsiblity to do all assignments. It is also to the students' advantage 
to benefit from the additional practice that homework provides.

Am I able to observe my child in class?

Yes.  Parents if your visit will be 10 minutes or less there is no 
appointment required.  However if your visit will be longer than ten minutes 
you must provide 24 hour notice.

Can my child celebrate his/her birthday with the class?

Students are allowed to celebrate birthdays during the lunch hour only. 
Cupcakes are ideal.  All celebrations should be called into the lunchroom 
supervisor 24 hours in advance.  All paper goods and a parent or legal 
guardian must accompany birthday treats.

Can my child redo a failed assignment?

In general, students may not redo failed assignments.  However if certain 
circumstances merrit a consideration it may be possible.

Can my child earn extra credit to bring up their grade?

There are ample opportunities for your child to receive a passing grade from 
the classwork, homework, class participation, projects and activities 
assigned in class.
