Mission For The Class

Class 131 (Junior Religion 1) is designed to provide reinforcement and
additional catechesis during the most important years of a teenager's life,
just before he makes important decisions about college, vocation, marriage,
etc. The class also provides an introduction of the history of the Church on
which a student can build a firm commitment to his faith.

Class 111 (Freshman Religion) is a true introduction to the Hebrew and
Christian Scriptures. Since Catholicism is a Judeo-Christian religion, to
learn Catholicism, students must first become familiar with our roots,
Judaism. For one semester, Freshmen study the Hebrew Scriptures in depth and
trace the path which sets the stage for the arrival of Christ. During the
second semester, students will focus on Christ both God and man. With a
strong learning here, students will be prepared for the remaining three years
of religious education at De La Salle.
