Mrs. Whitney Tyner
East Middle School
7th Grade English and 7th grade Health
I am very pleased to be a part of Farmington Public Schools for the 9th
year. This is my 13th year teaching English, and I have an
exciting year planned for your son or daughter. We will explore many aspects
of Language Arts and Health, and your child will have daily opportunities to
improve his or her literacy/comprehension and writing skills.
I relocated from Richmond, Virginia nine years ago where I
began my teaching career as a 10th and 11th grade English teacher.
Before I moved to Richmond, I attended Western Michigan
University, and now hold a BA in English education as well as a MA in
To guide students to utilize critical thinking skills and to create
opportunities for success in the classroom. All students possess unique
qualities and different learning styles that can be recognized through a
variety of instructional strategies. A positive self-concept in a positive
atmosphere will enhance the role of each student to develop the skills
necessary to become life long learners.
