We have the Legacy Edition

Funding for our Religion books was provided by Legacy of Faith and an anonymous donor

November 30th

This week we will begin our Advent celebration. We will be having a daily advent service in our classroom.

We are also going to be learning about novenas. Since it is close to the feast day of our Lady of Guadalupe we will be doing a novena to her. We will say that everyday for nine days ending on Dec. 11th. Since the Novena talks about the grace we receive, we will be learning about the different types of grace.

October 19th

This week we will continue working on the mysteries of the rosary. We are also preparing for our first mass of the year on Oct. 22nd. Join us if you can.

For the next couple of weeks our unit on prayer will focus on the rosary. We will be learning the Hail Holy Queen and the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Luminous Mysteries.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy queen mother of mercy,

hail our life, our sweetness

and our hope.

To you we cry the children of Eve;

to you we send up our sighs,

mourning and weeping

in this land of exile.

Turn, then, most gracious advocate,

your eyes of mercy toward us;

lead us home at last

and show us the blessed fruit

of your womb:

O clement, O loving, O sweet

Virgin Mary

September 28th

This week we will continue our study of prayer. We discuss when and where Jesus prayed. We will discuss the Our Father and also when, where and how we pray. On Friday we will discuss our church as a people of prayer.

September 21st

This week we will continue our study of different kinds of prayer. Last week we learned about prayers of blessing, in which we honor God as the creator of all of our blessings, thanksgiving, praise in which we show our love and respect for God, intercession which are prayers for others and prayers of petition in which we ask God to help us.
