We are focusing on our printing skills. Some of the difficulties I am seeing are printing on the lines, using capital letter and lowercase letters correctly and punctuation. We are also trying to work on writing complete sentences.
I am noticing that some of our printing problems come from working too fast. I remind the children often that I do not give out rewards for the first one done and that I prefer they take their time and do their best, not their fastest.
You can help them at home by showing them how to use these skills when they are doing homework or any other kind of writing. Many of the students do their best in the handwriting book but do not carry over that skill into other areas of their day. It is important for them to know that their writing should be their best in all areas.
