I am a Marquette native and a graduate of Northern Michigan University.
This is my twelveth year teaching at Father Marquette Elementary.
I am a member of the Michigan Reading Association and the Marquette Alger Reading
Council. I am an advocate for literacy! This summer I had the opportunity to take a class called the
Upper Peninsula Writing Project. It was a four week intense course that helped me identify with myself
as a writer and a teacher of writing.
I have two daughters, both freshman- one in high school, one at NMU! It seems just yesterday they
were first graders themselves. My husband and I enjoy spending time with the girls when their social
calendar allows and traveling whenever possible.
My goal is for every child to view him/herself as a reader and writer, no
matter their skill level. I want students to become lifelong readers by
sharing my love of literacy throughout the year.
Our classroom is a community of learners, friends, helpers, and risk
takers. We have all been blessed with different gifts from God and are
accepting of others.
