3. School Board Report:
- No one was present to give a report. However, Kathy Weber attended a meeting and said that the School Board has a place on their agenda for Home and School. She encouraged us to attend.
4. Treasurers Report:
- Karen Thompson
- The candy sale brought in $10,027.00 this year and $10, 998.00 last year. Tania still has some families to contact about payment.
- 63% of the teacher allocation money for the elementary school has been used and 6% for the middle school has been used.
- Home and School needs to be reimbursed for some auction spending (about $2500.00) and Karen Ogles will be taking care of that.
- Kathy Frazier
- She was not present to give a report. Kathy Weber gave us her update.
- There has been no change since the last meeting; student accounts are currently being updated.
5. Fundraisers:
- B. Dalton Book Fair Update
- Fruit Sale
- Kathy Frazier and Lisa Brazeau are the chairs.
- They are working out a date and discussing where to set the price.
- Kathy Weber said the last couple sales have had the profit go to the general fund, but thinks the sale would do better if it were earmarked for a project. She will look into that with the principals. Suggestions from the meeting—Library/music room and a scholarship fund.
- Egg Sale
- Tania has the materials at home.
- We need a chairperson. Michele Boehmer will put it in the newsletter.
- Spring Book Fair
- Cheri Bannan will chair this for the elementary school and Beth Stanchina for the middle school. Michele Boehmer will verify that.
6. H&S Sponsored Events:
o The middle school sold about $500.00.
- Staff Christmas Party Update
o Sandy Nadeau heard it was very nice.
- Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
o No date has been set yet. Michele Boehmer will talk to Jackie Wright about that.
7. Grant Requests/Updates:
- No new requests.
- Mrs. Geary inquired about the payment for the Catholic Schools Week magic show. Karen Thompson thought a payment had been made, but Jackie Wright is the one to ask.
8. Old Business:
- Auction—Committees for 09/10?
- Kathy Weber said that the school board would like to have a sub-committee work on this with Home and School.
- Tamara Leadbetter said she would chair it. Kathy will give her name to Martha Process.
- Candy Bar Sale chair 09/10?
- We do not have anyone yet; Michele will put it in the newsletter and Sandy Nadeau will ask a couple people who were suggested.
- Did we get someone to do Our Family labels?
- Someone is doing it. Possibly Suzie Wright.
- Tania Kurzawa Asked if we could waive the candy bar sale for the teachers who have children in the school. It passed. This will be effective next school year.
- Tania Kurzawa said that the Innisbrooke sale is being wrapped-up. She said shipping was charged unexpectedly and taxes were also unexpected. There was a late fee charged because the invoice didn’t get to Tania until after the due date. She paid without the late fee and gave an explanation.
- Mary Fish needs help with the Campbell’s labels. Kathy Weber will ask the person who did it last year.
- Michele Boehmer will follow-up with Deb Mlecko about the directory. Tania Kurzawa suggested that there is a possibility of having someone at the diocese print out the phone book since the diocese now has all the school families’ information for tuition payment.
9. New Business:
- Catholic Schools Week—Home and School role?
- Kathy Weber said that Jackie Wright said the Commons is reserved and games are being planned.
- Michele Boehmer is going to check whether Jackie Wright has refreshments planned and call for bakers if needed.
- Karen Thompson will get cards and Scrip for the principals to be given during Catholic Schools Week.
10. Adjournment: 7:35
11. Next Meeting: March 8 at 6:30 at the Elementary School
Respectfully submitted,
Melissa Pillifant
