  • The School Board meets on the third Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and we are welcome to send someone.

5.      Treasurers Report:

  • Karen Thompson
    • The candy bar sale totaled $14,289.00; the bill has not been received yet.
    • Last year the sale totaled $15,038.00 with a bill of $4,088.00.
    • There are boxes of candy left at the elementary school that still need to be picked-up by the company.  The boxes from the middle school have already been picked-up.
  • Kathy Frazier
    • Submitted a report to file with the minutes.
    • She said there was not very much activity since the last meeting.
    • There has been a $5,000.00 deposit made for the fall sale, but she is waiting for a bill form Tania Kurzawa.
    • Renee Leow mentioned that Kohls and Starbucks might give grants to help students fund school trips.  Kathy Frazier will pass that idea on to the teachers.

6.      Fundraisers:

  • Fall Sale Update
    • There was not a lot of participation.  Kathy Weber will check with Tania to find out if she plans to chair it next year.
  • Auction—
    • There was no final number for profit ready for the meeting.
    • Brenda Washnock reserved St. Peter’s for November 6, 2009. There is a possibility of reserving it for the first Friday of November each year.
    • There was discussion about who might coordinate the auction.  Cindy Laitinen offered to call people to find a coordinator.
    • Karen Olges pointed out that we need to figure out what needs to be done. Kathy Weber said there should be a packet describing what needs to be done.  Tami Seavoy had compiled packets for each chair position.  Kathy Frazier will look at home in a box from Tami to see if she has it and if not will e-mail Tami about where to find it.
    • The Kohls help was very well received.
    • Kathy Weber mentioned that we should get people to come to the auction from outside the school community.
  • Scholastic Book Fair
    • Cheri Bannan said that it went very well and was up 30% from last year.
    • Cheri will chair it again next year.
  • B. Dalton Book Fair
    • Fran Millado is working on it.
  • Fruit Sale
    • Kathy Frazier is working on it with Lisa Nyquist and Lisa Brazeau.

7.      H&S Sponsored Events:

  • Secret Santa

o          Renee Leow and Cheryl Turausky are working on it.

o          It will be the first week of December.

o          There was a request to have it at the middle school for fifth and sixth graders.

o          Renee  Leow suggested that the elementary school leaves the shop open one afternoon after school to allow the middle school students to come over and purchase items. That is the plan.

  • Staff Christmas Party—Maddy Kochevar
  • Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

o          Michele Boehmer and Kelly Matthews are working on this.

o          Jackie Wright and Karen Ogles will get a date to them soon.

8.      Grant Requests/Updates:

  • Jackie Wright will check on the missing grant request from Mrs. Fassbender.

9.      Old Business:

·                                Candy Bar Sale

o          A chair is needed for next year.

o          Kathy Weber will call the people on the volunteer list to find a chair.

10.  New Business:

  • Volunteer list

o          The forms come home in the registration packet.

o          The list needs to be compiled in April or May.

o          Michele Boehmer will compile it this year.

o          Jackie Wright will have Jill Hayes add ink cartridges, Our Family labels and the book fair to the volunteer form.

o          After Home and School fills all the positions it is responsible for filling, the list will be passed on to the school offices.

o          Jackie Wright will let the teachers know about the on-call list.

  • What are the events and sales that H&S is responsible for?

o          Econ Reciepts—Gerry Shelafoe

o          Boxtops—Steve White

o          Campbell’s Soup labels—Mary Fish

§         Mary can call Kathy Barber or Julie Christianson for instruction on how to bundle these.

o          Phone Book—Deb Mleko

§         This needs to be started in the spring rather than fall.

o          Ink Cartridges——Cheryl Turausky

o          Our Family labels—We need someone.

§         Jackie Wright said that this fundraiser will be mentioned in the newsletters.

o          The Home and School will fill Econo receipts, Boxtops, Campbell’s Soup labels, ink cartridges, and Our Family labels volunteer positions at the first meeting of the school year.

o          The school will contact and organize volunteers for Catholic Schools Week and the parade.

  • Magazine Sale

o          There is someone willing to run the sale.  It was decided that it should be done next year, not this year.

  • Renee Leow asked if Home and School would consider getting two banners with the school logo and name on it for use at school events.  It would be a good way of advertising.  She will fill out a grant request form.

12.  Adjournment: (8:00)
