Welcome Back Students and Parents. Our school year is already off to a busy start!
All of our fifth grade band students have their instruments and we have now
learned several notes. Hopefully everyone will be bringing these instruments
home to practice on a regular basis.
Sixth, seventh and eighth graders now have their Christmas music to practice and
I will be giving all band students practice charts this next week to fill out. Eighth
graders performed at the Band-O-Rama concert on Tuesday, October 20th at
Bothwell Middle School. Everyone did an outstanding job! Thanks parents for getting
your children there on time. Hope you enjoyed the concert.
We also have our concert dates set for the school year. Our Christmas concert will be
on Thursday, December 17th and the spring concert will be Thursday, May 27th. Both
concerts will be held at St. Michael Church at 6:30 pm, and will include all band and
choir students. This is a required performance for all of the students.
Our Orchestra program has started up again for the year. We meet Mondays from
2:15-3:00 throughout the school year and hope to perform at both concerts. If you
would like your child to participate, please let me know. We have a very small Orchestra
and would love to have more participants.
We have our seats reserved to attend "Fiddler on the Roof" next May for the 6, 7, and
8th grade band students. I will collect money for the remainder of the ticket and for
the bus later this fall. Watch for details in the newsletter. I have a few seats that are
still available. If you are interested in any tickets, let me know.
